After a lot of research, we are here today to write about the time singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter graced the steps of last year’s MET Gala red carpet. It tastes bittersweet because Paco Rabanne died this past February, but it’s always important to remember and honor the pillars of fashion.
Carpenter indeed looked stunning in a custom silver and gold Paco Rabanne embroidered sequin look consisting of a silver corseted brassière, as well as a gold voluminous skirt that was embroidered with crystals from Maison Lesage.
According to Julien Dossena, current Creative Director of Paco Rabanne, modernity was at the center of the creation, not straying away from the essence of the Spanish-French brand; per British Vogue he revealed: “We wanted to create something spectacular yet modern: sequins combined with rhinestones remains a Paco Rabanne signature, while the cut is reminiscent of old Hollywood, the original American couture. […] Sabrina was a big part of the process, but gave our teams full creative freedom.”
Sabrina accessorized the look with gold Jimmy Choo Max 150 mirrored-leather platform sandals, a Paco Rabanne 1969 Transparent PVC Mini shoulder bag, her usual Maison Raksha white gold diamond Initial ring and a pair of Jacob & Co. diamond earrings among other fine jewelry pieces.
Sabrina‘s angelic makeup was courtesy of Carolina Gonzalez–she applied individual false lashes toward the end of her eyes and kept her natural lashes separated and defined. Gonzalez also applied a halo of gold eyeshadow around the blonde beauty’s eyes, to better catch the light. According to an interview for British Vogue, the singer herself wanted a soft glam, not too heavy, so it would feel more romantic.

Carpenter‘s hair was styled by Danielle Priano in a long do with curtain bangs. Priano mentioned using products by SexyHair, her own PSxDanielle products and Hidden Crown hair extensions #60/8 Clip Ins in ‘Ash Light Blonde‘ with lowlights.
As always, her friend and manicurist Zola Ganzorigt did her nails. They were long and oval shaped, featuring a gold outline on some and crystals on others. – Prep the nails;

– Apply a thin layer of OPI Chrome Effects No-Cleanse Top Coat on the outline;
– Rub the OPI Chrome Effects in Gold Digger on the gold outline of the nails;
– Apply OPI GelColor ‘Stay Shiny’ Top Coat;
– And last put the jewels on using OPI ‘Axxium Axxium‘ Clear Sculpting Gel.”
This look couldn’t come to life without the expertise of stylist Jason Bolden, who does an incredible job in keeping his clients looking expensive–this ensemble is a perfect example of that. He often collaborates with the American singer and the result is a youthful approach with the utmost respect for heritage brands and their traditions.
