Risqué outfits may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but when they’re paired with a strong personality, they can even take second place.

That’s what I feel happened with Amandla Stenberg while she walked the red carpet of the LA premiere of “Dear Evan Hansen” at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on September 22, 2021.

For the occasion, the “The Eddy” actress wore a Gucci Ouverture sequin embroidered silk gown with heart shape bodice detail styled with a two-button jacket and leather ‘Sylvie‘ sandals with gold chain detail.

The ensemble was from the Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Stenberg‘s makeup consisted in a simple smokey eye and natural glossy lips.

Hairstylist Vernon François‘ incredible artistry in working on natural hair shone through for the creation of the masterpiece he shaped on Amandla‘s head–hands down one of the best looks seen on a red carpet.

Here is what he used to achieve it:
Vernon François Mist – Nourishing Water;
RedkenOne United multi-benefit treatment;
RedkenTriple Take 32 Extreme High-Hold hairspray;
Vernon FrançoisDazz-ling Spritz Shine Spray.

Manicurist Natalie Minerva painted Amandla‘s nails black, framing with gold different opals that she carefully placed on each of them, except on her right index and middle fingers.

Dear Evan Hansen is a 2021 American coming-of-age musical teen drama film directed by Stephen Chbosky from a screenplay by Steven Levenson. It is based on the 2015 stage musical of the same name by LevensonBenj Pasek, and Justin Paul.

In the movie, Amandla Stenberg plays the role of Alana Beck, a high school senior whose cheery facade and social-media savvy mask a deeper loneliness and isolation, and whose response to the death of a classmate ignites a movement.

Stenberg also sings a new original song composed for the film, which she co-wrote in collaboration with Pasek and Paul.
