We are some months away from the Venice Film Festival, so there is no better occasion than to reminisce about its past related red carpets.

Let’s start with Zazie Beetz at the “Joker” red carpet on August 31th, 2019 in Venice, Italy.

Beetz donned a Valentino Haute Couture multicolor floral dress from the Fall 2019 collection, paired with Valentino gold high heels with a thick PVC strap in the front and red Valentino sunglasses.

The accessories were complex gold touches, complementing the aura of the Valentino gown. Starting with a pair of gold Alighieri The Woven History earrings, finishing off the look with an Alighieri gold-plated The Moonlight Dance hair pin. All the pieces of the brand are designed to be imperfect and are inspired by Dante‘s literary works.

As revealed by makeup artist Alex Babsky, the makeup did not include foundation on the face, just a little concealer in selected places (well duh, with a face like that).

Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed and produced by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and provides a possible origin story for the character.

Set in 1981, it follows Arthur Fleck, a failed clown and stand-up comedian whose descent into insanity and nihilism inspires a violent counter-cultural revolution against the wealthy in a decaying Gotham City

Zazie Beetz plays the role of Sophie Dumond, a single mother and Arthur‘s “love interest”.
