Today we’d like to talk to you about the British stop of the press tour of the very much anticipated “The Little Mermaid” movie, held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on May 15, 2023.
In this instance, we loved how Simone Ashley paid homage to the place she visited by wearing a brand that has its origins in the exact same place, and considering that this one defines itself as a “blend of classic British luxury with a subtle contemporary flair”, she couldn’t be more accurate.
For the premiere, Simone donned an incredible creamVictoria Beckham long dress with cutout details from the Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with metallic Jimmy Choo Max 150 platform sandals.
She accessorized her ensemble with a pair of Venyx Mata Hari earrings with opals and diamonds in 18k white gold, a Venyx Bear Paw Opal ring on her right middle finger, a Venyx Bear Paw Heart ring on her left middle finger and a Venyx Bear Paw Ring on her right index finger.
Makeup artist extraordinaire Alex Babsky played with colors for this particular look. The emphasis was on the eyes, indeed the pro painted her lids with a blue eyeshadow that gave the effect of a smokey look (the water theme was a winner for this press tour) and he also painted her lips with a red-ish/brown-ish hue that acted as a perfect nude.
The hair was styled by Halley Brisker in a middle part with long gentle waves caressing her shoulders, of course the do matched her coif in the movie.
Manicurist Emily Rose Lansley created short Mother of Pearl mermaid nails for the actress, using Biosculpture ‘Apricot Angel‘ chrome powder for their orange reflection and a Byredo hand cream (she didn’t specify which scent).
As far as we can tell, Simone‘s dress is a bit reminiscent of her costume in the movie, especially if we look at her caudal fin.
The curves and the movement of the gown create the illusion of a fish swimming in the water and we suppose it was all intentional (once the wind hit it on the red carpet, it was just magical).
Once again, stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray proved how she can modernize and translate a concept into clothing, which is such an appreciated practice for those who love a reference and an intrinsic meaning or story behind a dress.

The Little Mermaid is a 2023 American musical fantasy film directed by Rob Marshall from a screenplay written by David Magee.
Co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures, DeLuca Marshall, and Marc Platt Productions, it is a live-action adaptation of Disney‘s 1989 animated film of the same name, itself loosely based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same title by Hans Christian Andersen.
In the movie, Simone Ashley plays the role of one of the daughters of Triton and Ariel‘s sister (renamed for the film) Princess Indira.
