Lola Tung at CFDA Fashion Awards 2023
Stylist: Britt Mccamey
Outfit: Balmain by Olivier Rousteing
Makeup Artist: Misha Shahzada
Hairstylist: Dana Boyer
Jewelry: Alexis Bittar | David Yurman
I must admit that it’s the first time I come across Lola Tung and it’s because I was impressed by the outfit she wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards last year.
You should know by now that whenever something intrigues me, my main instinct is to go deep into the matter and investigate, so that’s what I did today.
For the event, Tung donned a couture-inspired Balmain mini dress entirely crafted in glass beads, coming together in a striking architectural silhouette, complete with strong shoulders from the Fall-Winter 2023 collection.
The look was paired with matching pointy pumps, Alexis Bittar Dream Rain Linear Drop Earrings, a David Yurman Starburst Bypass Ring in sterling silver with diamonds on her left index finger, a David Yurman Pavé Four Row Ring in 18-karat yellow, white and rose gold on her left index finger and another Sculpted Cable Pinky Ring from the same brand on her left little finger.
Her makeup for the occasion can probably be traced back to her maternal Chinese roots and was courtesy of Misha Shahzada.
The pro opted for an even skin tone, a gentle flick of black eyeliner and slightly smudged brick lips.
Shahzada used cruelty free products to achieve the desired result and from what I could gather from her social media post she specifically used:
– Bubble Skincare
– Charlotte Tilbury – Foundation and ‘Pillow Talk‘ Blush
– Victoria Beckham Beauty – Cream Highlighter
– Victoria Beckham Beauty – Bitten Lip Tint Hydrating Lip Gelée in the shade ‘Bisou‘
For the hair, the actress went for a chic updo, styled by Dana Boyer.
It doesn’t come as a surprise since the dress was so intricate that you wouldn’t possibly want to put anything in its way and that’s how you can balance statement dresses that catch everyone’s attention–meanwhile, her manicure was kept au naturel with just a little French manicure peeking through.
The “The Summer I Turned Pretty” actress was styled by Britt Mccamey, someone whose editorial background is clearly behind the choice of such an important piece of clothing.
The stylist was able to convey Tung‘s passion for structured ensembles but this time elevating them to a different level–more mature, more striking and more confident.
After all, Lola is a star on the rise and a fashion boost like this one never hurt anybody.
