On this freezing Thursday I wanted to write about something frosty and that had a kind of glacial look to it, and I instantly remembered Iris Law‘s outfit for this year’s Vanity Fair Afterparty.
I was stunned and hypnotized by many details of her attire and I promised myself I would talk to you about it.
For the eventful night, Law donned a see-through sleeveless beaded light grey Tom Ford dress from the Spring-Summer 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection, paired with silver Tom Ford Padlock heeled sandals in laminated grained nappa leather.
She accessorized her ensemble with a pair of David Yurman ‘Couture Dianthus‘ Drop Earrings featuring 28-carat South African green beryls set in 18-karat gold and anodized aluminum from the High Jewelry collection ‘Genesis‘, a David Yurman Floating Diamonds Dome ring in white gold on her left index finger and another David Yurman Stax ring in 18k white gold with diamonds on her right middle finger.
One of the most stunning parts of this look was Iris‘ makeup, courtesy of Jonathan Wu.
The pro applied a light blue eyeshadow on her lids and another black one on the inner and outer corners of her eyes to give the look more depth. On the lips, he applied a glittery gloss, perfectly complementing her eye makeup.
The brand used was Pat McGrath Labs.
Her hair looked incredible thanks to the expertise of Owen Gould, a master when it comes to intricate and structured hairdos. The model indeed showed off a short and sleek wavy cut, and Gould framed her face with little tendrils on the temples.
Iris‘ multicolor short manicure was courtesy of Emi Kudo who recreated one that Kotono posted on her Instagram last December. The model is an admirer of everything colorful and kawaii, so there was no surprise here.
Kudo is one of the most generous and kind nail artists, her client roster speaks for itself, because she is able to switch from classic manis to more eclectic ones according to one’s specific needs; a true gem.
For the occasion, Law was styled by Kate Young, quite fitting if the model’s intention was to approach the event in a more serious way and going for the rich but streamlined style Young is known for.
Iris does work with different stylists from time to time, so it’s always fun to dissect what’s the message behind a certain look and what variables shape her pick–I found this one quite peculiar from someone like the English model.
