On this very hot day, I decided to revisit an event that I follow with great interest: the Venice Film Festival.

I see so many red carpets during the year that I often need to check my archive to find looks that slip my mind and I came across the lovely dress worn by Iris Law last year, and I wanted to share it with you.

Iris donned a custom blue velvet Burberry halter dress with a thigh-high slit, paired with metal gold Jimmy Choo Azia 110 leather stiletto heel sandals.

The model also accessorized the look with a pair of David Yurman Chatelaine Pavé Bezel Stud Earrings in sterling silver with Hampton Blue Topaz and diamonds, a David Yurman Petite Albion ring in sterling silver with White Topaz and diamonds on her right index finger, two Chatelaine Rings on her left middle finger and right ring finger, plus a David Yurman Sculpted Cable Band ring in sterling silver with diamonds on her left index finger.

When it came to makeup, Law was made up by Valeria Ferreira who applied a sparkly cobalt green reflective eyeshadow on her lids to give the eyes an aquatic feel, Ferreira‘s trademark style.

Iris struggles with acne, so the duo often opts for a no makeup makeup base, defined by a taup-ey structured contouring. Her natural beauty is clearly enough, indeed the getting ready process solely revolves around enhancing what is already there.

Ferreira also wanted the lips to look liquid and lacquered, bringing her back to the idea of water, hence why the clear gloss to seal everything off.

Law‘s hair was styled by Luke Hersheson in a sleek, short, wet-looking do, one of the styles that fits Iris best. Of course the pro used products from his own brand to achieve the desired result.

I am not sure about the styling but given the fact that Iris has deep ties to the brand, also thanks to her ambassadorship for Burberry Beauty in the past, I can confidently assume that she worked closely with the brand who conveniently styled her for the occasion without many other intermediaries.

She often does this with the brands she loves and that are also her friends, she is truly a genuine and kind soul.

Joker: Folie à Deux is a 2024 American jukebox musical legal drama film directed by Todd Phillips from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Silver.

Based on DC Comics characters, it is the sequel to Joker (2019) and stars Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Arthur Fleck / Joker, alongside Lady Gaga as Harley “Lee” Quinzel.

It premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 4, 2024.
