We are starting the week with a new category of events: the Tribeca Film Festival. As you all may have understood by now, we dig deep into the internet to find the best gems the showbiz has to offer. Let’s analyze what Hari Nef wore to the famed film festival on June 19, 2021 in New York City.
The actress wore an incredible orange Schiaparelli maxi evening dress in viscose with leather effect. The shoulder straps were held by a golden padlock on each side. The gown stemmed from the Fall 2020 Ready-to-Wear collection.
She combined her gown with bronze Stuart Weitzman Jaxie lace-up sandals with a square toe and a Lydia Courteille gold Nazca lizard bracelet among other gold jewelry pieces.
I’ve loved this dress for as long as I can remember and I pushed back writing about it because I thought it deserved its special moment.
With the resurgence of Schiaparelli in the online conversation, it makes me emotional to think that a brand that is so linked to its heritage and so surreal to wear out and about, can now be worn freely by those who value art as much as I do.
It takes a certain courage and a certain attitude to wear the maison’s pieces (now helmed by Daniel Roseberry), not to mention the clientele that the brand carefully selects and deems worthy of wearing them (we all know that association matters a lot). That being said, I think that Hari Nef‘s drama, theatricality and grace were the perfect fit in this occasion.
Can we also talk about the flawless makeup that Sam Visser created for her? A strong orange eyeshadow and matching lips that sparkled revealing a gold metallic sheen. Visser is an expert in bringing the editorial side of makeup to the red carpet–effortlessly.
The nails deserve another chapter alone, because what nail artist Mei Kawajiri came up this time, totally reflects the symbolism of Schiaparelli. Peep the eye on the right ring finger, the red nails on the left index finger and the lobster on the left middle finger.
The gold base was obviously the fil rouge that keeps every Schiaparelli‘s creation together.
What can we say? When artists come together, they have the power to make us all dream and forget what goes on around us–those are the moments in which one can reach peace, even if only for a little time.
