She is one of the young protagonists of House of the Dragon, and probably a character who is going to raise some eyebrows in its next episodes. We’re of course talking about model and actress Emily Carey.

For the Los Angeles premiere of the now famous series, she gave us a lesson in unconventional styling. Let’s see why.

For the occasion, Carey donned a Givenchy white silk and tulle layering in 3D effect bolero, worn with off-white leather bra, optic white silk pleated shorts with white and black lace and off-white leather G Clog high boots. The ensemble was part of the Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection.

She accessorized the look with a white gold Nouvel Heritage Simple Pearl ear cuff, white gold Graziela Gems Floating Diamond Fringe Ear Climbers and other difficult to identify jewelry pieces from Melinda Maria, Effy and Meredith Young.

Makeup artist Allan Avendaño created an earthy smokey eye on the actress, defining her eyes with a light trait of black eye pencil. He also used bronze-y tones to tie everything together and to make sure the pencil wouldn’t budge. Eyebrows were left natural and feathery; the pro also used Velour Lashes Plant Fibre Lashes in ‘Second Nature‘ to give more depth to Emily‘s eyes.

Hairstylist Rena Calhoun styled Carey‘s hair in an easy updo, leaving some tendrils on the front to frame her face. The products used were courtesy of Virtue Labs.

Manicurist Kimmie Kyees created a bronze French manicure on the actress by using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in ‘Love at First Flight‘ (picture below – 3rd on the right) and ‘Sundown Socialite‘ (picture below – 1st on the left) followed by the Miracle Gel Top Coat (picture below – in the middle).

All in all, it doesn’t happen every day to see a Givenchy outfit such as this one making its appearance on a red carpet and if you think about the fact that Emily Carey is quite new to this game, you can’t help but appreciate her confidence and her trust in her styling duo.

Pros Zadrian Smith and Sarah Edmiston definitely know how to take space in a room and also know how to make their clients feel like the main character (the metaphor is very much intended).

House of the Dragon, marketed as Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon, is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal for HBO.

It is a prequel to the television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019) and is based on portions of Martin‘s 2018 novel Fire & Blood. Set two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen; the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen war of succession, known as the “Dance of the Dragons“.

In the series, Emily Carey plays the role of young Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Ser Otto Hightower, raised in the Red Keep and a part of the King’s inner circle. Known as the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms.
