I love introducing you to new people, because I think that the more you know about the world, the more you end up understanding things that may not concern you in your everyday life.

People have become too self-centered, selfish and cruel and that’s not what I stand for.

Like I mentioned already, the world is spinning out of control and I won’t contribute to a toxic narrative that sees us all against each other, unable to agree on basic principles.

That’s why I traveled to Thailand with my imagination, in an effort to shine a light on individuals who are shyly stepping into the western entertainment world and who are already beloved and famous in their homeland.

Case in point: actress and model Davika Hoorne, who attended last year’s Cannes Film Festival in a gown that made people swoon.

For the event, Hoorne donned a green lace-embroidered custom Gucci dress, completing the look with a matching green organza feathered cape.

She accessorized her ensemble with gold Gucci Marina Chain earrings, and finished the ensemble with a gold Gucci Bamboo Night bag and gold Gucci Bamboo sandals.

Thai makeup techniques are quite different from ours and they tend to blend East and West together, resulting in a soft glam that is more accentuated, especially in the eye area.

In this specific case, Davika was made up by Jibbie Rubie, who was the first ever Thai MUA nominated for an Emmy for her glam on Lalisa Manobal while filming “The White Lotus” season 3.

The pro opted for defined bushy brows, subtle cheek blush and horizontally winged black eyeliner. To clash with the green of the dress, she chose a peachy/reddish tone of eyeshadow which she blended masterfully on the lids and then made the actress’ eyes seem bigger by applying a matching eye pencil slightly lower than the lash line and a line of glitter below it.

The skin was extremely luminous, you could literally see the glow from afar.

Hoorne‘s hair was styled in a long, sleek, middle-parted do with wavy ends by @spophair, who has already worked with the model on several other editorials.

From what I gathered online, I assume she was styled by another frequent collaborator of hers: Eric Gao.

Gao praised her look for the red carpet on his Instagram last year, so I think he had a hand in this, even if just as a consultant.

After all, the Thai actress is a Gucci girl through and through, she’d make anything look immaculate anyway.
