Sometimes I just need a bit of simplicity and I think I found an outfit that encapsulates it in an effortless way.
Wondering which one I’m talking about? Well, the one worn by Yara Shahidi for last year’s LACMA Art + Film Gala.
Shahidi donned a brown Gucci halter neck backless dress, probably inspired by a design from the Spring-Summer 2025 collection, paired with black Gucci platform sandals.

She complemented her ensemble with a small pair of Panthère de Cartier earrings in 18K rose gold, each set with 73 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 1.56 carats, emerald and onyx, a Cartier Grain de Café bracelet on her left wrist, a yellow gold Panthère de Cartier ring half-paved on her left ring finger, a Cartier Grain de Café ring on her right ring finger and a Panthère de Cartier ring on her right index finger.

In some shots she was also seen carrying a black Gucci Bamboo 1947 mini bag.
The Black stunner was made up by Cherish Brooke Hill, who opted for a reverse eyeliner flick, leaving the lid almost bare, adding just several coats of black mascara on the upper lashesβto seal the deal, the pro kept the lips defined but nude.
Her hair was styled in a long straightened hairdo by Kendall Dorsey, with a braid keeping everything secured.
To achieve this result, Dorsey mentioned using the Curl Wow Money Mist and the Curl Wow Leave In Conditioner.
Nail artist Tracy Clemens created for her a brown French tip manicure that accurately matched the dress.
The “Grown-ish” actress was styled by Jason Bolden who has crafted a style for her that feels classic but fresh, while standing the test of time.
It’s not easy to strike the perfect balance between doing too much and too little, but Bolden manages to dress several clients in distinctive styles, hitting the mark every time.
