Vanessa Kirby at “Napoleon” Premiere – Paris

This Wednesday I’m analyzing the Paris premiere of the movie “Napoleon“, starring incredibly talented and immensely beautiful actress Vanessa Kirby.

For the event, held at the Salle Pleyel on November 14, 2023, Kirby looked otherworldly in an Alexander McQueen asymmetric bustier dress in black with gold hammered sequin flower embroidery and a bow train from the Pre Spring-Summer 2024 collection, complemented with black Jimmy Choo ‘Minny‘ ankle sandals.⁣

Vanessa, a proud Cartier ambassador, accessorized the look with a Tressage ring in 18K yellow gold and a matching Tressage bracelet on her left wrist and left middle finger.

One peculiar aspect you should all pay attention to, while noticing that someone is made up by celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker, are the inspirations behind her technique.

Indeed this time on Baker‘s mood board were several paintings by French artists who depicted Napoleon or Joséphine, carefully examining the colors that were part of his and her wardrobe.

Predominant colors were reds (which she used on the actress’ lips), whites (reflected in her alabaster skin) and blacks (her dark mascara and overall dress).

The pro described the red lip as “impassioned, romantic, survivalist, imperial, simple, bold and dramatic”.

Adir Abergel styled the blonde stunner’s hair in her signature delicate beach waves using Virtue Labs products while her short nails were painted with a strong, black nail polish. A punk-ish touch that she often sports on red carpets.

This time, the “Pieces of a Woman” actress was styled by Karla Welch, which is also quite meaningful since Welch is a very political supporter of women’s rights and is the perfect fit to dress someone portraying a patron of art, a survivor, a child bride and a single mother.

Kirby often wears figure hugging dresses, so it was a pleasure to see her wearing something more regal, more structured but still complementary to her slender figure.
