This Thursday I’m delighted to write about one of your favorites: Tom Holland.

I truly liked his ensemble for this year’s Critics Choice Awards and I’d love to tell you why, by analyzing something that goes beyond mere appreciation for something beautiful.

For the award show, Holland wore a custom Prada brown techno-stretch double-breasted jacket, matching waistcoat and a begonia poplin shirt.

To complete the look, he went for black patent leather boots.

Some eagle-eyed fashion connaisseurs such as @zendayacollective were quick to point out the possible hommage to Fred Astaire‘s costume in “The Band Wagon“, which could be highly plausible since Holland is slated to portray the famed American dancer and actor in a future biopic.

In an interview for GQ, even Astaire himself elaborated on his success as a style icon: “I know that once in awhile I’ve been on lists of best-dressed men, but it always comes as a surprise to me. I never think of myself as spic and span or all duded out—just as someone who wants to be comfortable and satisfy his own taste.”

One of the things he was also known for was having his suits custom-tailored and preferring sober colors such as dark blue, dark gray, and dark brown; we can confidently say that Tom is following the same path.

Jamie Taylor cut his hair, styled it in soft waves and made sure his skin looked glowy and ready to roll.

Holland was styled by Crystalle Cox, one of Law Roach‘s assistants.

I had the chance to observe Cox‘s work as both a key stylist and an assistant and her style is polished but youthful, classy but not too conservative, striking the right balance between the “old Tom Holland” and the more mature one, ready for more difficult projects, choosing wisely which one to pick up first.

Tom Holland was nominated in the category Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for his role as Danny Sullivan in “The Crowded Room“.
