Circa two weeks ago, I was mesmerized by Tessa Thompson‘s ensemble for the New York premiere of the 4th season of Westworld, held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.
I have a soft spot for risqué outfits, especially if they don’t appear at all vulgar or obvious. If you want to know which dress I’m talking about, you are in the right place.
Tessa looked like a golden goddess in an Interior ‘The Callisto‘ gown, crafted in a crinkled sheer silk metal, skimming gently over the body as it fell into a train before turning to reveal a dramatic open back enclosed with velvet panne ribbons reminiscent of liquid metal.
The piece comes from the Fall-Winter 2022 collection.
The “Sylvie’s Love” actress accessorized the opulent ensemble with white Gianvito Rossi Bree plexi pointy sandals with a thin stiletto heel, a Kismet by Milka Soft Square Hoop earring on her right ear, a pair of round huggies and a Boho Beads Piercing, always by the same brand. The pièce de résistance was a Reza ‘Pétale de Perle‘ ring, with a 29.5 carat pearl set in yellow gold and surrounded by 58 diamonds.
Apparently she also carried a bag by Judith Leiber, but we could just see its sparkles in some backstage videos without being able to identify it.
Makeup artist Keita Moore painted Tessa‘s face with Armani Beauty products, opting for earthy tones and creating a mirror effect on the lid with a blown out smokey eye.
Here are the products he used:
– Armani Beauty – Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer;
– Armani Beauty – Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 7.75;
– Armani Beauty – Luminous Silk Concealer in shade 7;
– Armani Beauty – Neo Nude Melting Color Balm in shade 45;
– Armani Beauty – Neo Nude A-Contour in shade 20;
– Armani Beauty – Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in shade 4;
– Armani Beauty – Eye Tint in shade 46;
– Armani Beauty – Black Ecstasy Mascara;
– Armani Beauty – Lip Power in shade 203.
Lacy Redway was in charge of the hair, adding a last-minute black ribbon detail to the hair to double as a choker and a hair accessory to complete and complement the look.
Fun fact about the dress: Thompson revealed on her Instagram stories that she stalked the Interior dress on Vogue Runway and sent a photo to her stylists Wayman and Micah. She also said: “It was the only thing I wanted to wear, and it got out of customs hours before the premiere! I am continuously awed by the imagination of designers and grateful to get to wear their art!”
Westworld is an American dystopian science fiction, neo-Western television series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Produced and aired by HBO, it is based on the 1973 film of the same name (written and directed by Michael Crichton) and, to a lesser extent, the film’s 1976 sequel, Futureworld.
The story begins in Westworld, a fictional, technologically advanced Wild-West-themed amusement park populated by android “hosts”. The park caters to high-paying guests who may indulge their wildest fantasies within the park without fear of retaliation from the hosts, who are prevented by their programming from harming humans.
In the series, to this moment, Tessa Thompson plays Charlotte Hale and Dolores Abernathy.
