It has been a really slow start of the year for me for multiple reasons: first of all, even though I am not keen on celebrating Christmas holidays, my internet connection at home makes it impossible to even work on something, and second of all, my computer there is too old to properly function (I have a desktop PC where I usually live).

That being said, we should also talk about the elephant in the room: the Los Angeles wildfires that are impacting many communities in California–not discounting any of the atrocities that are already taking place in the world–which made me feel stupid for even trying to write about something that could be seen as frivolous or shallow as fashion.

Many behind-the-scenes professionals were affected by the fires and the only way I have to support them (while not being able to do it personally or monetarily) is to still write about them while they are momentarily out of work to keep their names in the conversation or share their requests for help on social media in order to raise awareness (there is a whole conversation to be had about how much I hate using any type of META platform, because I don’t want to contribute to the owner’s wealth if I don’t absolutely need to).

So let’s talk menswear by looking at what Taylor Zakhar Perez wore to last year’s Vanity Fair party.

For the occasion, Perez donned a cream Givenchy blouse–clearly inspired by the late Hubert de Givenchy–stemming from the Fall 2024 Menswear collection, paired with black cigarette pants.

The American heartthrob accessorized his look with a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Apollo Brooch in 18k yellow gold and platinum with round brilliant diamonds, plus a pair of black Givenchy shiny shoes.

Taylor‘s groomer Rachel Burney mentioned using different versatile hero products to achieve that glorious complexion and luscious mane: Uzo Beauty and Danessa Myricks for the makeup and California Born and Serge Normant for the hair.

Perez was styled by Jason Bolden who was able to dress him in a new modern iteration of what the late aristocrat and brand’s founder used to wear in his atelier.

I expected nothing less from the label since the design team had crafted his outfit while the new creative director for the brand Sarah Burton was then announced later last year (in the meantime, they truly were so good at sewing into existence pieces that were an embodiment of the brand’s original identity).

Bolden is always capable of making Taylor look chic and collected without overplaying it or being bland, staying true to the brands’ heritage and the actor’s willingness to show up and show off whenever he’s invited to an event, striking the perfect balance between fashion and comfort.
