Pop superstar Taylor Swift is one of the most influential people of our time and while her own tour is coming to an end, I’d like to spotlight how the way she dresses is deeply influenced by her songs and her own personality even if it does not seem like it at first sight.
Her approach to dressing is even more commendable when we take into account the respect she had for the artist who invited her to her tour film premiere last November.
For the London premiere of Beyoncé‘s Renaissance Tour film, Swift radiated Old Hollywood romanticism by wearing a shimmering silver custom Balmain dress complete with rosette details, perfectly combining her romantic soft glam aesthetic with the high-shine vibe of the Renaissance World Tour.
The blonde stunner paired the outfit with black velvet Giuseppe Zanotti Lilibeth slingback sandals and several jewels by Anita Ko, specifically: a pair of Large Pear Diamond Drop Earrings in 18k gold, a Triangle Eternity Ear Cuff in 18k gold on her left ear, a Princess Eternity Ring on her left index finger and a Diamond Twist Ring in white gold on her left middle finger among others.
Regarding the silver nature of Taylor‘s outfit, we need to give you some context.
Beyoncé, for her Renaissance Tour, asked her concertgoers to dress in silver to celebrate her birthday (4 September) and Virgo season (her astrological sign), of course almost everyone followed suit.
It is a common belief that there is a link between silver and the Virgo sign, and people also felt that it was a call back to queer nightlife and the LGBTQIA+ community that is a big part of her fanbase–not forgetting her uncle Johnny who died of AIDS when he was a teenager and she was just 17.

Wearing a silver Balmain gown took on an even deeper meaning since the brand’s creative director has notoriously collaborated with Beyoncé several times (she is a role model for him) he’s Black, and part of the gay community.
The rosettes on the entertainer’s dress could symbolize Swift‘s thorny nature, quiet and soft on the outside, but dangerous if you touch her in the wrong way.
To go with the ensemble, her makeup artist Lorrie Turk opted for a bright red lip and silver lids, applying the silver also on her lower lash line. To intensify the look, Turk also applied false lashes on the outer corners of the eyes.
Jemma Muradian styled her hair in a romantic deep side parted long wavy do, the hair in the front almost served as a short fringe while the rest of it gently fell on her shoulders for the ultimate goddess vibe.
Her short silver glittery manicure matched her dress; we can assume that Taylor painted the nails herself–something she does almost all the time–but we cannot confirm it or deny it, we’ll just update this article in case we’ll find out.
To conclude we can say that Taylor was styled by long time collaborator Joseph Cassell Falconer and his big team of assistants that he never forgets to mention–a quality not many other stylists possess.
I am sure there are always conversations between Taylor and Falconer, especially around the hidden meanings and Easter eggs that she wants to include in what she wears, and why she would like to wear a certain color or fabric.
Swift is very involved in the creative process and I think it makes her look even more genuine and caring, which is difficult to come across at such a level of fame.
