On this rainy Tuesday I wanted to write about something glamour and flashy and that’s how today’s article came to be.

I thought about the dress Taylor Swift wore to this year’s Golden Globe Awards and I remembered that during my research I was able to find a vintage correlation to it, which made it very appealing to me, and I’d like to share with you what I found out.

For the award show, Swift donned a custom Gucci green sequined column dress with thigh-high slit on the back paired with moss green Christian Louboutin Kate pumps (same model as pictured below, not the same color).

According to a detailed press release, she complemented her look with plenty of jewelry: a pair of De Beers Arpeggia Three Line diamond earrings, De Beers Arpeggia long diamond earrings, a De Beers Classic Round brilliant diamond stud earring on her right ear, a De Beers Dewdrop ear cuff on her left ear, a De Beers Arpeggia One Line diamond bracelet on her left wrist, a De Beers OBS Pear-Shaped diamond ring on her right ring finger, a De Beers Five Line diamond ring on her right ring finger, a De Beers Dewdrop One Line pavé ring on her right index finger, a De Beers Classic Darling full pavé ring on her right index finger, a De Beers Classic Aura diamond band on her left index finger and two different De Beers Classic Allegria diamond Eternity bands on her left middle finger.

Here is where the situation gets interesting: Julie Ann Clauss from The Wardrobe, was very quick to point out the similarity between the ensemble and a vintage look from the Gucci Fall 2004 Ready-to-Wear collection, designed by Tom Ford.

I honestly think this was not too far fetched, because as you may have noticed, De Sarno‘s Gucci is very streamlined, more in line with his predecessor Ford rather than Michele.

If you look at the dress, you would also think that the coincidence is too good to not be true somehow, so I think there was intention behind it–a good vintage reference always pulls the strings of my heart.

Taylor‘s makeup and hair were courtesy of her trusted glam team: Lorrie Turk and Jemma Muradian respectively.

Turk opted for a glittery light smokey eye, defining the entertainer’s eyes with a flick of black eyeliner, to then finish off the look with a generous amount of body glow and a creamy rose-y pout.

The hair was styled in soft waves by Muradian, making sure it gently caressed her back.

There are always many talks related to Taylor‘s manicures, that she religiously matches to her clothes herself.

For this particular occasion–and many times in the past–she has worked with nail artist Lisa Peña Wong, who painted her oval-shaped nails with a sparkly varnish to go with the twinkle of her precious jewelry.

The “All Too Well” singer was styled once again by Joseph Cassell Falconer and his assisting team consisting of Venetia Kidd and Elliot Soriano; let’s give credit where credit is due, everyone deserves recognition in this industry, big or small, no one should be invisible.
