This is the season of coats, rusty tones and fallen leaves, which brought back to my mind that particular outfit Sophie Turner wore to last year’s Academy Museum Gala.

Seen that as of now the Gala has been postponed because of all the geopolitical conflicts that are happening, we thought it might be a good idea to revisit it in case you missed it.

For the occasion, Turner donned a camel Louis Vuitton jacket with reddish brown inserts, matelassé lapels and big yellow gold buttons from the Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection. Underneath it she wore a black leather insert V-Neck structured dress with rounded hemline and rich brown calfskin inserts.

She complemented the outfit with black Floral Lace leggins, what seemed to be total black Cherie slingback leather pumps (same model as pictured below, without the monogram), Louis Vuitton diamond earrings and ruby ring.

Sophie‘s makeup was pretty simple and emphasized her eyes, indeed celebrity makeup artist Georgie Eisdell framed them with a diffused black eyeliner, abundant coats of mascara and some strips of individual lashes here and there. There was just a halo of reddish eyeshadow on her lids and creamy peachy lips sealed the deal.

Her hair was styled in a long sleek do with deep side part and soft waves at the ends by pro hairstylist Gregory Russell, one of her longtime friends and collaborator.

Her manicure consisted in short reddish brown nails with a light sheen, perfectly matched to the accents of the jacket.

If you’d like to replicate it, manicurist Shigeko Taylor mentioned using the Bio Sculpture nourishing polish in the shade ‘#2009 Hot Chocolate‘.

Turner was styled once again by Kate Young. They have been working together for several years and we all probably know the deep relationship they both have with Louis Vuitton. She is a brand ambassador, so it comes as no surprise, but we can also say that she is one of those who can truly sell the brand to a different audience.

Latest drama aside, she is versatile and can wear their “more ladylike” offering as well as their more structured ensembles, which is no easy feat.

What I appreciate about the brand though, is that they never compromise creativity and that they have an eye for people who will eventually become someone important in the future (take model HoYeon Jung who became an exclusive for the brand at their S/S 2017 show).

The Academy Museum Gala is an event dedicated to celebrating the art and history of film.

Last year, the Gala was presented by Rolex, and marked the one-year anniversary of the Academy Museum, the largest museum in the United States devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking.

They honored four artists of the filmmaking business: Miky Lee (executive producer for Parasite and Snowpiercer); Tilda Swinton, Michael Clayton, director Steve McQueen and Julia Roberts, recipient of the Icon Award.

According to Variety, over $10 millions were collected in donations during the night.
