I’d like to close this week by reminiscing about an outfit–once again–from last year’s Cannes Film Festival.
These days are hotter than normal and that made me think about a way through which I could visually express it, and that’s how Shanina Shaik‘s gown for the occasion came to mind.
Shaik donned a Nicolas Jebran blue dress with scoop neckline and see-through long floor-sweeping skirt from the Spring-Summer 2023 ‘La Douche‘ collection, paired with silver Aquazzura Moon Crystal 105 sandals crafted in sleek specchio leather, featuring crystal embellishments at the toe and ankle and a covered stiletto heel.
Her jewelry was from Riyadh-based brand Lustro and consisted of a diamond necklace, diamond earrings, a diamond ring on her left ring finger, a three-row diamond arrow ring on her right ring finger and a diamond bracelet on her left wrist.
Shanina‘s makeup was natural, focusing on enhancing her innate beauty.
Makeup artist Kelly McClain opted for defined, combed up brows, barely filled-in to match her hair and a thin eyeliner flick. The models’ freckles shone through the lightweight foundation and a nude lip sealed the deal.

The Australian model’s hair was styled by Alireza Mousavi in a short bob with a deep side part. A move that fit the look so well since her ends lightly graced her necklace and kept her cool through the night.
The bob is something that never goes out of style and in Shanina‘s case, you can do no wrong with such a face.
The brunette stunner was styled by Amarsana Gendunova, a true professional when it comes to bring the best gowns to the festival–she truly does God’s work if you look at her portfolio and see how many models she styles for the famed event (and related ones) each year.

The Taste of Things (French: La Passion de Dodin Bouffant), previously titled The Pot-au-Feu, is a 2023 French historical romantic drama film written and directed by Trần Anh Hùng starring Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel.
Set in 1885, it depicts a romance between a cook and the gourmet she works for.
The film premiered on 24 May 2023 at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, and was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or in its main competition section, where Tran Anh Hung won the Best Director award.
The film was chosen as the French entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
