Scarlett Johansson at “Asteroid City” Red Carpet – Cannes Film Festival 2023

As soon as I saw Scarlett Johansson starring in the new Prada campaign, my instant thought was that she would walk the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in one of their creations, and I wasn’t wrong.

Here is what the actress wore for the premiere of “Asteroid City” during the famed French festival.

Johansson donned a custom Prada petal pink and white scuba fabric dress embellished with a micro embroidery of beads and rhinestones paired with Prada silver-colored brushed sandals.

She also accessorized her ensemble with a Prada silver brushed leather clutch, David Yurman High Jewelry Liberty Illusion-Set earrings in 750 white gold with GH/VS diamonds and a David Yurman Classic Band ring in 18k yellow gold on her right ring finger.

Her 11 carat Taffin engagement ring was clearly visible on her left ring finger.

Scarlett‘s makeup was her usual signature style: light, dewy and airy-with the main focus obviously on the skin. Her longtime makeup artist Frankie Boyd praised the actress for her dedication to it in an interview for Elle, in which he also talked about his inspiration for the look.

“Scarlett takes very good care of her skin so I wanted her to feel as fresh as possible just enhancing her natural radiance with maximum hydration and using minimal coverage on the skin. Keeping in the surreal world of her Prada campaign I added a bold Red-Orange lip to contrast the pink dress with a playful spirit. The eyes are left clean and glossy with a soft spikey lash to pull and accentuate her natural eye shape.”

According to Johansson‘s skincare line The Outset, to keep the matte lip color looking lush and creamy, Boyd prepped Scarlett‘s lips with the Ultralight Moisture Boosting Oil.

“Scarlett showed me this hack and I’m obsessed – hydration is key for good application & wear, & rather than a waxy balm that rests on the surface of the lip, this dry oil sinks in an & creates a moisturized foundation without the slip.”

In the same Elle interview, the “Black Widow” actress also praised her friend and MUA Frankie for always knowing what’s best for her to look her best on a red carpet: “Frankie always makes sure my skin looks super hydrated before I head out the door so he adds moisturizer applied with a brush on top of any parts that need a little boost. The brush gives more precision when applying moisturizer to the body to get around straps and embellishments on gowns!”

David von Cannon styled her hair in a short bob with middle part, while structured waves gave volume to her coif, without making it seem flat; she also showed off a chrome silver manicure, courtesy of nail artist Yoko Sakakura.

This time the actress was styled by Kate Young, and we must say that it is quite a departure from her days with Molly Dickson. Maybe after her second child she was ready for a new chapter and a new creative vision, only time will tell, but it also doesn’t come as a surprise since Young is not working with Margot Robbie that much anymore.
