Model and entrepreneur Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walked the red carpet of last year’s MET Gala.

Her look was inspired by the glamorous style of Old Hollywood actresses Jean Harlow and Marlene Dietrich.

The craftsmanship behind the dress was astonishing, according to Oscar de la Renta‘s website: “The figure-skimming gown has a base of nude silk-chiffon draped on a controlled bias with over 70,000 Swarovski unfoiled glass lochrosen stones individually hand-embroidered with a glass seed bead sewn on top, taking 1,400 hours to complete.
The cape is framed to horsehair and organza, held by corsetry-style crinoline bands. Over 200,000 ostrich feathers are hand-dyed soft blush pink, curled by hand to create dramatic flounce, then applied by hand in clusters of five, taking 1,700 hours to complete.”

Here is the list of all the products make up artist Hung Vanngo used on her.

Hairstylist Christian Wood went for an Old Hollywood chignon using Wella Professionals and the new ghd Festival Hair Dryer.
He always preps with Wella’s luminous reflective oil to create a shiny smooth base for an updo–take a glimpse at his work HEREthese are the products he used, the thorough process was explained in his Instagram stories.

For nails, manicurist Gina Edwards used an OPI gel color nailpolish in Bubble Bath which was paired delightfully with the gown.

Here is how the fitting went down and where the inspiration came from.
