We are still struggling through the heat, hence why today’s article revolves around a very effortless get-up, in the hope of going back to cooler days when sweat wasn’t an issue.
Case in point: Riley Keough attending this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty.
For the night, Keough donned a gold backless sequined Celine dress with thin straps and a plunging neckline, from the Fall-Winter 2023 collection, paired with silver open-toe platform sandals.
The lovely redhead accessorized the look with Boucheron Goutte de Cristal earrings from the High Jewelry Timeless collection, a Boucheron Cabochon Parfum ring set with a 64.14 ct cabochon rubellite and onyx, pavéd with diamonds on white gold from the Nature Triomphante High Jewelry collection and a black Celine Triomphe Minaudiere in sequins, calfskin and gold finishing (not shown in pictures because of copyright issues).
Riley‘s makeup matched her dress and consisted in a gold inner highlight, rose-y lips and fluttery lashes. Her makeup artist for the occasion was Beau Nelson, who used YSL Beauty products to achieve the desired result–here is a little breakdown courtesy of the pro (slightly edited for clarity):
“I created this look by prepping the skin with Baume Éclat and then applying ‘MW3′ All Hours Foundation to warm her skin and create a flawless base.
Touche Éclat #2 Ivoire Lumière and #2.5 Vanilla Lumière to brighten under eyes and any shadowy areas.
Lash Clash mascara in ‘Black‘ both top and bottom gave a strong defined lash line and full separated lashes.
I used Sequin Crush Mono Eyeshadow in Legendary Gold on the inner 2/3 of the eyes along with Crushliner Waterproof Eyeliner in Dark Brown as cream shadow to define the outer third and bottom lash line in a sheer smoky way.
Nu Lip & Cheek Balmy Tint in ‘Pinch‘ and ‘Flush‘ were mixed for a peachy pink flush and glowing finish to the cheeks.
Rouge Volupté in #150 Nude Lingerie finished the look with a sheer natural color and glossy finish on the lips.”
Celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend styled her hair in effortless loose waves with a middle part using Fekkai products. A generous amount of hair was strategically placed on one shoulder while the other opposite part behind her back.
Here is Townsend‘s working process, courtesy of the brand:
“1. I started her hairstyle by applying the Straight Balm to her wet hair. This balm works incredibly well in Riley‘s curly hair when blow-drying;
2. Then, when the hair was dry, I applied a small amount of the Brilliant Gloss Multi-Tasker Crème to soften her hair and protect her hair from heat;
3. Next, I took large sections of hair and wrapped the hair in a 1.25-inch curve curling iron;
4. To break up the waves, I took a few drops of the Brilliant Gloss Glass Hair Anti-Frizz Oil Serum in my hands and warmed the product up before taking it through her hair;
5. To keep her in place while staying soft, I liberally sprayed the Flexi-Hold Hairspray all over. To keep her hair back on one side, I sprayed the same hairspray on a reusable mascara wand to comb it behind her ear.”
The nails were painted with a transparent nail polish and they were well taken care of my manicurist Eri Ishizu.
Keough has been experimenting with her stylist Jamie Mizrahi and the looks have been whimsical, colorful, tasteful, poised but also daring.
The actress is experiencing a newfound fame after her performance in “Daisy Jones & The Six” and her boho style in the series acted as a launch pad for a further development of her personal style, and we are carefully taking notes.
