Rihanna at “Smurfs” Premiere – LA

Once again I’m here with a luxurious outfit, translated into an excellent alternative for pregnancy style.

I would have never associated such a brand to it, but as we all know, Rihanna is one to subvert the status quo and she did it in the classiest way possible.

For the Los Angeles premiere of “Smurfs” she donned a dark brown custom Saint Laurent long dress with spaghetti straps, a long, green belt to give it shape and an oversized leather bomber jacket from the Fall 2025 collection, paired with black Saint Laurent SL M140 rectangular, sleek sunglasses.

The singer turned businesswoman complemented her ensemble with incredible and rare pieces of jewelry, that I could locate thanks to the help of an article by the online publication Only Natural Diamonds, for instance: a pair of Old Cut diamond on a wire silver and gold diamond drop earrings sourced from FD Gallery, another pair of Jacob & Co. Fancy Intense yellow diamond cushion drop earrings, a David Webb amber and diamond Pistil cocktail ring on her left pinky, and a cluster Chopard ring from the Magical Setting collection in 18k rose gold, set with 9.87 carats of diamonds on her right ring finger. 

The makeup was courtesy of Priscilla Ono who did a masterful job at keeping her complexion supple and flawless, playing with rose-y tones on the cheeks and lids. To finish off, Ono defined Fenty‘s lips with a pencil slightly darker than their color and juiced them up with a clear gloss.

Yusef styled Rihanna‘s hair in a messy, knotted updo, with little strands of hair peeking through the bun for an effortless, romantic look.

Nail artist Kim Truong created for the famed entrepreneur an elegant, short, metallic, iridescent pink manicure, so it wouldn’t contrast with the color of the dress.

Truong detailed on her Instagram how you can replicate the manicure at home (reported below, slightly edited and condensed for clarity):

– Start by prepping the nails with ePhD Bond Repair Treatment.
– Next, begin with Aprés Base Gelcoat for a smooth, even surface.
– Apply one coat of Gel Couleur ‘Flushed‘ from the ‘Light and Shadow‘ collection, a sheer blush pink that adds soft elegance.
– Then, layer with ‘Kuromi’s Pretty Journey‘ for a magnetic, cat-eye pink effect – activate with a magnet for that perfect dimensional glow.

The Barbadian beauty was styled by Jahleel Weaver, a genius professional who’s able to satisfy Rihanna‘s hunger for street style as well as for sophisticated ensembles.

Even when she’s pregnant, she’s willing to put on a show, and I admire her for being so in love with fashion that she doesn’t care about anything else.

This obviously doesn’t mean that people should do the same, it’s just her personal preference and I respect her for it.

People associate Saint Laurent with pale thinness but Rihanna was able to change the paradigm, making the French brand maternity friendly and we all noticed, even if it’s just a little step.
