It’s been a long time since we last saw Rihanna on a red carpet but she definitely knows how to make an entrance.

Due to her contribution to the soundtrack of the movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever“, she attended its Hollywood premiere with her beau ASAP Rocky; let’s see how it all unfolded.

For the rare occasion, Rihanna wore a sequined Rick Owens strapless long dress from the Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection, accessorized with long opera gloves.

She paired the edgy look with custom Giuseppe Zanotti open-toe heels, a Reza Ruban earring in 18-karat gold with black rhodium pleating–worn as ear cuff, a Maria Tash 3 carat Oval Diamond and Pear Diamond Dangle stud earring on her high lobe and a Neil Lane pendant diamond earring just a little bit below it.

In some shots, she was seen carrying a rectangular Tyler Ellis grey ‘Lily Clutch‘ in Truffle Crushed Velvet.

In a Fenty Beauty press release, MUA Priscilla Ono shared the inspiration behind the beauty look Rihanna had on the red carpet: “We wanted the skin to really mimic the beautiful shimmer of her dress.

We created a diamond-like shimmer on Rihanna‘s face and body using her favorite Diamond Bomb Highlighter, which allowed her semi-matte neutral pink lips with Fenty Icon lipstick in ‘Pose Queen‘ to really pop.

We chose a coordinating olive green color for her eyes with Flypencil Eyeliner in ‘Bank Tank‘ and took that shade into her waterline so that it was a fresh and graphic eye look.”

Other products used were:
Fenty BeautySnap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Smoky‘;
Fenty BeautyFull Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara in ‘Cuz I’m Black‘;

Fenty Skin – Start’rs Full-Size Bundle;
Fenty BeautyPro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in #330;

Fenty BeautyPro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in ‘Cashew‘;

Fenty BeautyMatch Stix Contour Skinstick in ‘Mocha‘;

The hair was kept wild and free, with her locks flowing down her back and face, styled by the expert hands of Jusef. Some braids on the side made sure she would be able to show off her gorgeous makeup for the cameras.

Who knows what was under those gloves, sadly we have no way to find out.

Love the gritty and row vibe of the dress. I think she gave the idea of wearing something earthy, close to the themes that are at the center of the “Black Panther” movies’ narrative. It is also remarkable that she felt so compelled to honor the late Chadwick Boseman‘s memory that she came back from her music hiatus, even if just for a while.
