Priyanka Chopra is not new to campy events, she has it in her veins seen the opulence of her Indian heritage. For her third year at the MET Gala, she opted for a French house.
She wore a Dior gown which was reminiscent of a dress from the Couture show of Spring 2018 (close-up here: 01, 02). As said by one of the atelier’s designers, it was a tribute to the Eighties-era TV shows, perfectly in line with the camptheme.
“The spectacular couture gown and cape were made from tulle, featuring embroideries of tulle feathers and silver strass. Each of the feathers was cut by hand and then attached in graded layers, going from grey and blush pink to bolder yellow, fuchsia and fiery red. The caged bodice of the dress was created from tulle and silver horsehair. A team of 10 petites-mains worked on the dress for a total of 1500 hours.”
