I like Olivia Rodrigo very much and I enjoy her music and how she represents a new era of entertainment that is not geared towards making yourself appealing for everyone around you.
She writes about topics that are universally recognizable and that make her relatable to her audience, especially young women who are looking for an outlet where they can channel their emotions.
For the premiere of the movie about her latest tour, she wore an incredible lavender and black long vintage Dior lacy dress from the Fall/Winter 1998 collection, designed by John Galliano when he was at the helm of the French maison.
Rodrigo paired her look with black platform sandals and several jewelry pieces by Chopard.
To be exact: a pair of Chopard L’Heure du Diamant Collection earrings featuring 4.46-carat of diamonds set in 18k white gold, a Chopard 18kt white gold Ice Cube diamond ring on her right middle finger, a Chopard Ice Cube white gold ring composed of golden cubes paved with diamonds in the middle on her left ring finger and another Chopard diamond ring on her left index finger.
Olivia is pretty natural and straightforward when it comes to her makeup, this time relying on the expertise of MUA Melissa Hernandez who combed up her eyebrows, defined her eyes with a precise trait of diffused black eyeliner, a hint of blush and glossy brick lips.
Her hair was styled in long, soft and romantic waves by her friend Clayton Hawkins.
I personally think this is a hairstyle that suits her a lot in this specific instance, because the dress gives off a sort of soft gothic vibe and they complement each other without taking away the focus from a thing or the other.
Her short black manicure was courtesy of Yoko Sakakura, clearly matching the dark tone of the overall ensemble.
Rodrigo was styled by Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo.
The sisters did what they do better: hunt for vintage, giving it a new life on a modern red carpet (and for that I am truly indebted to their service to the fashion community, because they are incredibly good at it).
Also telling is the fact that they were able to pull a vintage dress in a color that is deeply meaningful to her and which pretty much reflects all that she loves and her aesthetic–she is showing off her femininity in a very (as Jools Lebron would say) demure way.
