Nicola Clarke is a Color Director at John Frieda, international hair colorist and hairstylist.

She took her first steps in the industry at 13, when she started working on Saturdays in a salon. A year before she finished school, she traveled to London for interviews and ended up getting a job in a hair salon where she trained with Robert Wright.

It wasn’t until she qualified as a hairdresser that she understood that she wanted to focus on color, as it combined her love of chemistry, drawing and painting.

Her first celebrity client was Kate Moss in 1997 while working on Matthew Williamson‘s first London fashion show with Sam McKnight.

Convinced Moss had been given a bad dye job, McKinght and Clarke went back to her house where they fixed her hair together and liked each other instantly–Clarke has been coloring and working with her hair for over 20 years now.

Some of her most notable clients are Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Paloma Faith, Cate Blanchett, and Madonna to name just a few.
