Another day, another Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty article, can you believe it is one of my favorite events of the year? The new one is approaching and I truly can’t wait to see what it has to offer for 2024.
On this Wednesday I’d also like to introduce you to a new actress: Naomie Ackie.
For the afterparty, Ackie donned a pink/lilac Atelier Versace hooded floor sweeping dress adorned with silver and pink spikes from the Spring-Summer 2023 collection, paired with an Anita Ko Diamond Triangle Eternity Band in 18k white gold on her left ring finger (she wore another ring on her other ring finger but we couldn’t identify it from the pictures available).
To finish off the look, she also wore a pair of silver, open toe sandals.
Sheika Daley made up her face using a lilac eyeshadow pencil blended on the actress’ lower lash line and then intensified her look with a black trait of eyeliner and fluttery false lashes.
Hairstylist Nikki Nelms took inspiration from Atelier Versace‘s lookbook and slicked the Black beauty’s fringe, and tucked it on the side.
When it came to the “Master of None” actress’ oval shaped manicure, her manicurist Mo Qin opted for a simple black nail polish, classic and refined.
Naomi was styled by Nicky Yates, whose style is rooted in simplicity and attention to detail.
You’ll always see her clients wearing streamlined, dreamy, romantic gowns, accentuated by jewels that make an impact.
I think Yates‘ chill Australian roots, mixed with her background as a magazine editor are the perfect recipe for her success in the field, and I am not afraid to say that it has been proven to me–endless times–that editorials ground your work like no other experience.
