It’s been a long time since I last wrote about Millie Bobby Brown and while I was looking through my archives, I was reminded of an outfit that she wore to the New York City premiere of Enola Holmes 2 that I specifically liked.

Today I’m sharing it with you.

On the red carpet, the actress was seen wearing a pink custom Louis Vuitton backless long dress with train and plunging neckline, decorated with black, silver and transparent appliquéd florals.

She paired her ensemble with what seemed to be Louis Vuitton Fame platform sandals in a custom white color with a chunky heel (same model as pictured below), a Louis Vuitton High Jewelry Pure V ring in white gold featuring one triangle cut diamond for 0.14 carat, 31 baguette cut diamonds for 1.10 carat, 36 brilliant cut diamonds for 0.47 carat and 2 onyx for 1.90 carat on her left ring finger. The cutest, elegant touch were her Louis Vuitton diamond earrings.

If you thought Millie was just wearing a cute dress, you need to reconsider, because if you saw the film, you know that flowers are deeply sewn (pun very much intended) into the plot of the story. Millie herself stated in an interview for Extra that Chrysanthemums are a leading theme in the film because every time Enola sees one, it means that her mother is coming.

The night of the premiere she paid homage to her on-screen mother Helena Bonham Carter, to show how important sisterhood is, as a sign of camaraderie between women and to express how important the women of her life are, embodying everything in a dress.

Fun fact: Chrysanthemums are also called “mums”, a little play on the British term for mother.

Millie‘s makeup was a continuation of her dress, cleverly playing with its tones. Her makeup artist and hairstylist Rho put the emphasis on a black Pin-Up winged eyeliner that she paired with rose-y plump lips.

The hair was reminiscent of the ’70s beehive updo that was often a signature style of French former actress Brigitte Bardot.

Rho was kind enough to share with her Instagram followers the products she used on Millie, of course the hero products of the look were from the actress’ beauty line Florence by Mills, but you’d be surprised to know that they were not the only ones.

Here they are (edited for clarity):

As far as we could tell, Bobby Brown French manicured nails looked like press-ons, she also did not disclose if there was a nail artist who did them for her, so our best guess is that she opted for a simple DIY on this specific occasion.

I was surprised to find out that Millie switched from her previous stylist Thomas Carter Phillips to Alexandra Imgruth, well known for her work on Léa Seydoux. I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise seen that the actress was named Louis Vuitton Brand Ambassador last year and Imgruth has plenty of experience with the brand already since Seydoux has been an Ambassador for over seven years.

All in all I think that her fans don’t necessarily focus on these “fashion connoisseur” details, and the truth was that she looked good and appropriate for her age, a factor that many times gets lost when an actors’ fame increases.

The look was cohesive, also because she needed to stand out since she is the protagonist and producer of the film (which is a big step at such a young age but as we know, she has always been very mature at whatever stage in her life).

━━━━━━━━━━━━

Enola Holmes 2 is a 2022 mystery film and the sequel to the 2020 film Enola Holmes, both of which star Millie Bobby Brown as the title character, the teenage sister of the already-famous Victorian-era detective Sherlock Holmes.

The film is directed by Harry Bradbeer from a screenplay by Jack Thorne that adapts the book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer. Unlike the film’s predecessor, it does not adapt one of Springer‘s novels and instead takes real-life inspiration from the 1888 matchgirls’ strike.

➤ The strike was an industrial action by the women and teenage girls working at the Bryant & May match factory in Bow, London. The working conditions in the match factory were not at all fair: up to fourteen-hour workdays, poor pay, unjust fines, having no clean area to eat, and the severe health complications of working with allotropes of white phosphorus, which caused phosphorus necrosis also known as phosphorimus chronicus or phossy jaw.

The film was released on November 4, 2022, by Netflix
