After these short Easter festivities I am back because I’d love to talk to you about a new entry: Brazilian actress Marina Ruy Barbosa attending last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

I try my best to discover new people to talk about (because being an independent writer allows me that possibility) and with time I recognized that our narration is heavily focused on the US perspective while we need to acknowledge that there is so much beauty in every part of the world that we can explore.

For the festival, Ruy Barbosa donned a magnificent Miss Sohee Couture lime silk glass organza gown with petal inspired drape from the Spring 2024 collection.

The Brazilian actress complemented the ensemble with incredible jewelry pieces by Chopard: a 18k Fairmined certified yellow and white gold necklace with pear-shaped (101.86ct), marquise-shaped (116.3ct) and round brilliant (2.26ct) yellow diamonds, and pear-shaped (43.4ct) and round brilliant (1.94ct) white diamonds, plus 18k Fairmined certified yellow and white gold earrings with pear-shaped and round brilliant yellow diamonds and pear-shaped and marquise-shaped white diamonds.

Adding further opulence to the look, she also wore a 18k Fairmined Certified White and Yellow Ethical Gold Ring with a Pear Shaped Yellow Diamond (7.99ct), Pear Shaped White Diamonds (3.55ct) and Round Brilliant White Diamonds (1.72ct) on her left index finger (of course apart from her engagement ring on the other hand).

Marina‘s makeup was flawless and was courtesy of Iván Gómez, who opted for reddish tones that complemented the actress’ hair: applied on the lids and blended towards the temples, tied-in with the blush on the cheeks and soft dark red lips.

Jacob Rozenberg styled her hair in a tight, sleek, high chignon since the dress was a work of art on its own and because loose hair would have been an impediment to her statement necklace.

The Brazilian beauty was dressed by Pedro Sales, who went for pure opulence and luxe fabrics which he used to wrap her body.

The dress brought the right amount of drama to the red carpet, and we can’t discount the fact that the reflection of the sun on it made her stand out even more–it literally looked like water flowing on her alabaster skin.

An incredible creation chosen by a stylist who deserves all the credit and who should be on your radar, especially if you a Brazilian like Marina.

Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is a 2024 American epic Western film directed and produced by Kevin Costner from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Baird, based on an original story by the pair and Mark Kasdan.

It is the first installment in the titular film series and it chronicles a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American west.

Chapter 1 premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2024, and was theatrically released in the United States on June 28, 2024.
