Today I am welcoming you with one of my favorite looks from the Venice Film Festival 2021. I am also introducing you to the great model Mariacarla Boscono. I hope you’ll enjoy this read because it is very meaningful to me.

For the festival, Boscono looked otherworldly in a crimson and burnt orange duo-colored archive Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble with deep thigh-high slits on both sides, a look that was part of the Fall 2016 Couture collection.

She paired her attire with black Gianvito Rossi patent leather pointed court shoes and red Wolford sheer tights.

Her jewels were quite astonishing, they included a Cartier necklace in white gold, emeralds, rock crystal, onyx and diamonds from the Creative Collection and a matching Creative Collection ring in white gold, fluted emerald beads, rock crystal, onyx, all set with 38 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.23 carats (keep in mind that the carat weight, number of stones and product dimensions vary based on the size of the creation).

Regarding her outfit, she said during a Vogue interview that it is one of her favorite looks and that red carpet appearances are not exactly her thing, but since working with stylist Ramona Tabita she feels more confident and willing to do it, here is what she told the publication exactly: “I’m very reluctant to participate in public events or red carpets, and since I started working with Ramona, I’ve become a little more self-confident. We have great chemistry.”

Mariacarla‘s makeup was courtesy of Rocco Santamorena who used Valentino Beauty products on her. The look was natural with an emphasis on false lashes and ethereal, glowy skin. The lived-in lipstick almost looked like a stain on her and it was the perfect color to match her couture dress.

The model’s hair was styled by Patti Bussa in a long messy ponytail and middle part. Her 20’s finger waves where the touch of class that made everything more cohesive, just look at the shapes of her dress and it all makes total sense.

Ramona Tabita is a stylist that I have admired time and time again. I am Italian and becoming a stylist was basically my dream (this website is the reflection of it and the closest thing I’ll ever manage to do probably). Tabita was the first woman I saw making a name for herself here in Italy and if you know the Italian fashion landscape, you will know that celebrity stylists are pretty rare and they do work with a variety of very different clients.

Ramona has crafted a narrative with Mariacarla, she is part alien, part dark, goth goddess and I love that about her, she is my favorite model if I have to be honest. The stylist has been able to translate who Boscono truly is and I think people here should take her as a great example of what you could do if you had the right mindset for it.

Every time I see Mariacarla stepping on a red carpet I know that there is a story to be told and it is never shallow or frivolous just for the sake of wearing beautiful clothes imposed on her.
