Malcolm Edwards is a British hairstylist known for his romantic, fantastical hair looks inspired by the lines and forms of the natural world.
Edwards grew up in a small town near Glasgow, Scotland during the 1980s. He spent his teenage life delving into influential magazines The Face, Blitz and i-D. After leaving school Edwards started his career as a hairdresser in his local town, before moving to Glasgow and eventually to London, where his editorial career began. After three years of assisting, Edwards freelanced for publications such as Dazed and Confused and The Face. He went onto spend five years in New York in the early 2000’s and is currently based in London.
He has worked with some of the most creative photographers of his generation including Craig McDean, Mert and Marcus, Solve Sundsbø, Tim Walker, Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi.
In addition to extensive editorial work for fashion’s finest publications including Italian, American and British Vogue, Interview, W, Love, Wonderland and The New York Times Style Magazine, Edwards has styled the hair for the industry’s highest calibre advertisers.
Edward’s campaigns include Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Céline, Stella McCartney, Mulberry, Kenzo, Esprit, M.A.C. Cosmetics and Rimmel.
Catwalk shows include Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Temperley and Just Cavalli.
He is also the hairstylist behind Margaret Atwood’s photo spread for The Sunday Times Style Magazine, lensed by Tim Walker.
