There’s always been a dress that really stroke me, during the 2019 Venice Film Festival and it was that worn by Lily-Rose Depp. Nothing can obviously compare to the vintage Chanel she wore at the MET Gala 2019 but this could easily be a close second.
The Chanel House ambassador stepped out on the Venice Film Festival red carpet for “The King” in a lilac Chanel Haute Couture silk chiffon bustier dress from the Fall 2019 collection.
Lily-Rose paired the magnificent look with Chanel Fine Jewelry Broderie de Camélia earrings in white gold set with diamonds, multicolored sapphires and black spinels and with the Chanel Ruban ring, which features a cushion-cut pink sapphire surrounded by diamonds.
You can also see a pair of Jimmy Choo metallic high heels peeking through her gown.
Coco Chanel was obsessed with different motifs, and ribbons and camellias were among those. They were reworked into necklaces, rings, earrings, to create a collection called ‘Les Intemporels‘ meaning ‘timeless’ as were many of Gabrielle [Chanel]’s creations. Bows and knots are ancient symbols of strength, unions, ties that bind, loyalty, and beauty and there is no wonder in knowing that Coco incorporated them in her jewelry designs in the 1920s and 30s.
