It’s always a good day when I have the chance to write about the French heritage brand that will be the subject of today’s article, a brand capable of making us dream in the wildest ways, and for that I am truly thankful.
The event where it was on display was the Los Angeles premiere of the movie “MaXXXine” and seen the tone of the film, it sounds even crazier.
The lovely woman who wore it was British-American actress Lily Collins, who was seen wearing a pastel blue Schiaparelli two-piece ensemble from the Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection.
A pastel moment for the Summer, and an outfit that even inspired her newest hair chop.
Lily‘s accessories matched the gold accents of her dress, indeed her attire was paired with gold pointed open toe Giuseppe Zanotti Intriigo Strap sandals, a Cartier Grain de Café ring in yellow gold, set with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds and 2 princess-cut diamonds totaling 0.24 carats on her right index finger, a pair of Cartier Grain de Café earrings and her engagement ring on the other hand.
Her dear friend and makeup artist Fiona Stiles went for an 80’s glam that included a soft smokey eye, long curved lashes and a reflective rose lipstick. To give some shape to the face, Stiles slightly contoured it with a peachy blush.
In her Instagram stories Collins mentioned Isabella Rossellini in the movie “Death Becomes Her” from 1992 as an inspiration–her hairstylist Gregory Russell didn’t hesitate one bit and went for a strong short bob to show off during the premiere.
In an interview for Access, the actress said that it was also the outfit that inspired her new hairdo.
As always, while we analyze the little details that make these events special, we love admiring the manicures that generally tend to be overlooked to a fault, because there are artists that truly take their time to create little masterpieces for the hands.
This time it was Thuy Nguyen, who opted for a simple milky almond shaped manicure with an almost invisible French detail. The mani mirrored the soft and pastel tones of Lily‘s clothes, adding an extra touch of gentleness to the overall ensemble.
Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn styled the “Emily in Paris” actress for the occasion, proving once again their versatility in the field.
Collins is undoubtedly a lover of everything fashion, and Schiaparelli, especially in its ready-to-wear offering, proves to be the perfect mix of beauty and comfortability, but with an eye for house codes, whatever the circumstances.
Sometimes Schiaparelli Haute Couture can feel too elevated for us simple humans, so I am glad that they are making a distinction between the two lines, even if we’ll probably never be able to afford their pieces anyway–but one can dream, right?
Otherwise, what do we have?
