Lily Aldridge went for a modern and edgy take for her 7th MET Gala with theme Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between (2017).
She wore a custom Ralph Lauren white silk charmeuse one-shoulder caped evening dress with cut-out details, red Balenciaga Knife over-the-knee boots on her feet.
As we all know, some people tend to ignore the theme of the Gala, but Lily tried to pay tribute to that year’s designer Rei Kawakubo. “The optic white and red are such classic Comme [des Garçons] colors. And I love how unexpected the striking boot feels underneath a beautiful gown,” she told CR Fashion Book–you can read the interview in full, here.
Makeup artist Quinn Murphy used Armani Beauty products on her face, here the complete rundown directly from his Instagram comments (in case you missed it).
For her hair, Bryce used the brand Moroccanoil. At first her hair was going to be up but once her team tried everything on, they decided to leave everything down. Since Comme des Garçon is all about a headpieces/adornments on the hair, they opted for sleek and sculptured hair underneath the fuchsia veil (which was intended to be white but it gave them too much of a bridal vibe).
She accessorized everything with Bulgari Heritage Collection earrings, a Diva’s Dream ring in 18 kt white gold with diamonds and a Cartier D’Amour wedding band in platinum and diamonds.
You can watch the wardrobe malfunction she had exactly in that year, in the 2nd video down below.
