Today I am bringing you a new entry on this website: singer-songwriter and musician Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir, known mononymously as Laufey.

I’ve been observing her for some time and I can say I am a fan of her style and that I thought it might be a good idea to write about what she wore to last year’s CFDA Fashion Awards.

For the occasion, the Icelandic musician donned a Beetlejuice II x Rodarte checkered black and silver sequin halter gown with a flower on the neck, paired with silver Gina pumps with a pink bow.

She complemented her ensemble with a Shana Cave Flowie Single Earring on her right ear, a Black Heart earring on her left ear, a Viking princess ring on her left middle finger and another flower ring on her right index finger.

Her makeup was an iconic part of the look, indeed MUA Romy Soleimani applied a lilac eyeshadow on the singer’s lids, blending it towards her temples for a more dramatic effect. The eyebrows were combed upwards and the lips kept nude.

The hair was styled by Esther Langham in a middle parted do that culminated into two braided low buns, keeping up with the playful nature of the ensemble.

Laufey also sported a clean short manicure, but at the moment of writing we don’t know if she required the services of a nail artist.

The musician was styled by Leith Clark who–in my opinion–truly found another muse in this lovely Icelandic girl.

Clark‘s romantic and sensual vision for fashion is embodied by Laufey, who oftentimes seems to be coming from another planet, seen how ethereal she usually looks.

Their collaboration is genuine and I can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeves for the future.
