This Monday is legitimately a cold Autumn day and these grey skies we can see outside heavily pushed today’s color palette.

Also, we always try to mix mainstream brands with more indie ones and Kylie Jenner‘s ensemble for this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty fell into the latter category.

For the afterparty, Kylie donned a Maison Margiela Haute Couture silver lamé dress created especially for her by John Galliano, paired with a custom pair of matching Amina Muaddi Sharon 105 pumps (same model as pictured below).

She complemented her look with Lorraine Schwartz pear-shaped earrings and she also seemed to be wearing a Maria Tash Floating Pear diamond charm threaded stud earring in white gold on her left ear.

Kylie‘s makeup was very natural, indeed celebrity makeup artist Ariel Tejada pretty much only focused on her brows and carefully shaded lips–no cakey face, no heavy contouring or over-the-top sun-kissed blush.

Her hair was styled in a chic side parted updo by Jesus Guerrero and her flyaways were gently combed on the sides of her face for maximum control.

Manicurist Zola Ganzorigt took care of Jenner‘s nails. Zola opted for a long, square, cream manicure to go with the clean, almost fresh out-of-the-shower look.

It is quite uncommon to associate the Jenner sister with Maison Margiela but during this year she has really put in the effort to wear high fashion brands that cause a stir and are heavily appreciated by those in the know (take Turkish-British designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu, vintage Thierry Mugler, Acne Studios or Haider Ackermann for Jean Paul Gaultier).

I believe her stylists Alexandra Rose Grandquist and Mackenzie Grandquist (yep, they’re sisters) are not given enough credit for the incredible work they have done both with Travis Scott and now with Kylie too.

If you can look at her as your icon it’s because of the work of these two unbelievable and unstoppable humans who–yes, have a good canvas to begin with but also–have the audacity to take chances and are relentless when it comes to shaping their vision.

I cannot even imagine how difficult it should be for them to style such a big celebrity and the pressure it comes with it.

I’ll always remember fondly the first time I discovered them and I though I had a treasure in my hands (they were still undiscovered at the time).
