Kit Harington made his official MET Gala red carpet debut this year, with wife Rose Leslie.
The “Eternals” actor looked smart in a custom Saint Laurent cream ensemble, black bow tie, black pants and white men’s shirt, accessorizing the look with a Harry Winston Midnight 42mm Automatic Timepiece in 18K white gold.

At first, the couple wanted to go for Art Deco with a modern concept, but they then decided to go with Old Hollywood Glamour instead, thinking it was a lovely nod to Americana. In an interview with Keke Palmer for Vogue, they mentioned that as Europeans, they have a sort of fascination by everything 1950’s in America, the decadence and the luxury of it all which they tried to convey with their outfits.
As with Dan Levy, Laila Hayani was in charge of Kit‘s grooming. In a press statement for American Crew, Hayani described her inspiration behind the actor’s look and the process she went through to achieve it:
“Kit‘s hair look was inspired by old Hollywood: classic, polished, sleek yet effortless style, and the goal was to achieve an ultra-sophisticated look.”
“- Laila started with damp hair and applied the American Crew Fiber Grooming Foam layered with a small amount of the American Crew Fiber Cream.
– She then air dried it and started to manipulate the look by finger-combing the top to create a slight wave.
– Once nearly dry, she finished with American Crew Medium Hold Spray Gel and small amount of Fiber, which prevented a strict hold and allowed for a sustainable flexible effect.”

Harington‘s hairstyling was definitely an ode to Clark Gable, see for yourself.
