Today we’ll talk about an event we never mentioned on the website: the BET Awards. This year I was particularly intrigued by the ensemble Keke Palmer showed off for the 22nd edition, held at the Microsoft Theater on June 26, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.
For the occasion, Keke wore a Conner Ives dress made from up-cycled silk scarves, from “The American Dream” collection.
She accessorized the look with Christian Louboutin Nappa Patent Veau Mirror Eklectica 120 silver pumps, Tiffany & Co. Victoria Mixed Cluster drop earrings, a Lynn necklace and a Lynn bracelet from the Schlumberger collection and a Victoria band ring in platinum.
The makeup was courtesy of Jordana David who lined Keke‘s eyes with some liner and applied long fluttery lashes for a dramatic effect, the brows were lightly defined; lips were painted with a nude hue and gloss. Hairstylist and long time friend Ann Jones styled the actress in a long sleek do.
Palmer‘s nails were painted in a French style manicure but with colors matching those of the dress.
Totally loved the eco-conscious fashion choice (the dress made of up-cycled scarves) and the overall eclecticism of the accessories–truly playful for the Summer time and for an event of this kind.
The BET Awards is an American award show that was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate Black Entertainers in music, film, sports and philanthropy. The awards, which are presented annually, are broadcast live on BET.
The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artists; some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a televised ceremony.
Keke presented an award with Daniel Kaluuya during the show (but she was wearing an Alexandre Vauthier dress).
