As you may know, the press tour for the “Barbie” movie was in full force till some days ago, but due to the Hollywood strike (that I fervently support) it had to be cut short.

What we do here is supporting the people behind-the-scenes of the entertainment industry and they are those who will also be affected by the situation, because most of their clients can’t do a myriad of things if they are under a SAG-AFTRA contract (here is a list of all the things that those people won’t be able to do till an agreement is reached).

Related to the work we do on this website: “Actors are prohibited from promoting projects they’ve already filmed, in the form of interviews, premieres, fan expos, press junkets, festivals, and podcast appearances, among other types of publicity. […] They are also banned from promoting their projects via social media.”

Of course I can honestly say that it won’t affect what I do here because I don’t work chronologically-wise, I carefully select what I want to talk about on a strictly personal basis, so I may write about something happened yesterday, today, but tomorrow I could write about something that happened 5 years ago. What matters to me is the research aspect, which takes time.

What I’d love to say though, is that in these difficult times I hope I’ll be able to still shine a light on all the people that consequently will be affected by this strike and let them know that my support is unwavering–and I hope you all will understand that it’s not only about clothes but about people, and the people make this “big machine” work, without each part of it, the system collapses.

I’m sorry for the monologue but I thought I had to make things clear going forward.

This Monday I’ll focus on a musician though, because what Karol G wore to the Los Angeles premiere of “Barbie” was so cute and Summer-y that I couldn’t miss the chance to let you know about it too.

For the occasion, Karol G looked incredible in a custom version of a pink Emilio Pucci two-piece dress, consisting in a bedazzled halter top with thin straps and bare back, plus long skirt.

The ensemble was probably inspired by some designs from the Spring 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Look 25 and 41

She paired everything with matching pink satin Charles & Keith Michelle platform sandals, featuring 13cm chunky platform soles and adjustable ankle straps, Jacob & Co. Bria earrings and a Jacob & Co. High Jewelry collection ring on her left middle finger.

Her makeup was courtesy of Patrick Ta, who played with the pink tones of her dress and her hair. The look was indeed natural and focused on a heavy blush application and light mauve glossy pout for a bit of contrast. The brows were expertly defined by Kelley Baker.

As for her hair, the diva look with deep side part was a creation of César DeLeön Ramîrez who did a masterful job at framing her face and making it look so effortless and so hers. Absolutely loving the vibe.

She also showed off a square light pink manicure, but we have no further information about it. As always, it is our duty to find out and update this space as soon as we know more.

I appreciate a stylist who knows how to dress curvy women and Brett Alan Nelson has proved it time and time again by working with Nicki Minaj, Lizzo and Doja Cat.

To know that your curves are not something to be covered but celebrated and accentuated has the power to make a lot of people feel different about themselves and seeing that kind of representation matters, still.

Also, with this outfit one cannot help but feel Karol‘s bubbly and unapologetic personality, which makes wearing a heritage brand such as Emilio Pucci a little bit less intimidating.
