Today we are here once again to talk about a lovely outfit I fell in love with while watching this year’s MET Gala red carpet.

You may be wondering who I am thinking of while writing this, and I can tell you that it was Jonathan Bailey with all his charm.

For the Gala, Jonathan donned a white bespoke Loewe double-breasted jacket with a black satin lapel. In lieu of a common bow tie, he instead wore a handcrafted peony flower with metal leaves and crystals that had a sugar-like texture (also a nod to the theme “The Garden of Time“).

I think it was a clever reinterpretation of a classic white suit and also a way to showcase the brand’s incredible savoir-faire as Bailey confirmed himself in an interview for Vogue: “It celebrates a sort of classic Old Hollywood minimalism, but then right at the front and centre is innovative design.”

“It’s amazing to understand how someone like Jonathan [editor’s note: Anderson, Loewe‘s Creative Director] works, to see how he’s inspired by art, but also [to work with] Loewe, as a fashion house that really prioritises craftsmanship. It’s really exciting: today feels very much like I’m a canvas for other people’s work–I’m taking a back seat!”

As you could see, Jonathan also showed off a smaller hidden flower that he was concealing with his jacket, he looked so proud of it while walking on the red carpet and fun fact: the little touch was his idea.

He paired his ensemble with black Loewe Campo Chelsea boots in brushed leather with an oversized round toe and an Omega De Ville Trésor watch with a diamond-paved bezel and a black leather strap.

Interestingly enough, the “Bridgerton” actor has incredible hair and facial features so I have no doubts groomer/hairstylist Kristen Shaw had the time of her life while styling it for the night.

Shaw revealed on her Instagram that they “built out his hair cut, beard and styling to be rugged yet classic and his skin bright and glowing”, the glow pre-Gala was courtesy of facialist Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine.

Shaw used Fresh Beauty products for his grooming, here below you’ll find a little tutorial she shared with her followers the day of the event:

– Prep with the Soy Face Cleanser for clear skin
– Apply the Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence which is packed with antioxidants
– Massage the Tea Elixir into the skin
– Finish off with the Black Tea Advanced Age Renewal Cream

Jonathan‘s youthful and playful styling was courtesy of Emma Jade Morrison who we came to love thanks to her impeccable work with model and entrepreneur Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The vibe I get from her work with Bailey is one of coziness mixed with hints of sensual silhouettes that do the trick whether you are a man or a woman.

The “Fellow Travelers” actor exudes confidence, and I think it’s his mischievousness that truly draws you in–with these foundations, the stylist has plenty of ways to spin the narrative for the day on the tapis rouge.
