Today I was in the mood for something colorful and I’m sure that there is a specific designer who comes to mind now that I’m mentioning it.
Some of his looks (yes, we’re talking about a man) can be so bright that you can experience vision problems. Any guess?
Well, of course it was Pierpaolo Piccioli from Valentino, who recently dressed actor Joe Locke for the second edition of Vogue: World in London.
For the event, Locke donned a full Valentino look, consisting of a pink blazer and a men’s shirt in a slightly darker tone underneath, along with mid thigh shorts from “The Narratives” Spring 2024 Menswear collection.
For shoes, he wore a pair of burgundy Valentino studded loafers.
An interesting part of this outfit apart from its striking color was the Cartier Juste un Clou pin in 18k white gold, carefully placed on his left lapel. A little detail that matched the rebellious vibe of his ensemble for such a formal occasion.
He also accessorized the look with what seemed to be a Cartier Trinity ring with black ceramic in 18k white gold on his left index finger and probably another one just in white gold on his left pinky finger (keep in mind that this was a tentative identification because the jewels are barely visible in any photo available).
Joe‘s grooming was courtesy of Petra Sellge, your go-to professional when you need a quick and effective fix when you happen to visit London for any kind of event.
She is a beloved human, and you can’t really imagine how many faces of the heartthrobs you love she often touches.
In this case his curls were graciously defined and his skin looked glowy and supple, everything you would want while walking on a red carpet.
His stylist for the occasion was Holly White, a remarkable individual who has styled the “Heartstopper” actor other times and someone who can name an incredible amount of up-and-coming actors as her clients, take Charithra Chandran, Milly Alcock, Tom Hiddleston, India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest.
White has styled Locke in different colorful looks–finally a good change of pace from overly elegant suits with nothing to say.
Vogue: World is an event that kicked off London Fashion Week on September 14, 2023. It is masterminded by Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful.
After its first edition in New York in 2022, this year it landed in London’s West End and according to Vogue, the publication invited Stephen Daldry (of The Crown and Billy Elliot fame) to creatively oversee a theatrical celebration of the very best of British culture and fashion.
The show also featured performances from leading lights of opera, theater, and film, as well as classical and pop music. The finale was a runway extravaganza showcasing highlights from the Autumn/Winter 2023 collections, and featuring a quartet of supermodels.
All net ticket proceeds from the event went to benefit a wide range of performing arts organizations in the capital.
