Don’t mind our MET Gala spree, but we can’t wait to see what this year has to offer.

In an effort to bring back previous contributions that shaped the history of the Gala, we’ll write about what entertainer Joe Jonas wore to the event in 2022.

Jonas donned an archival or previously worn look with a twist for the occasion, specifically a white Louis Vuitton peak lapel jacket, combined with a see-through black and white tank top and black pants from the Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection.

He accessorized the look with a Fred Leighton C1920’s onyx and diamond necklace set in platinum, black boots and other silver rings on his right ring finger and pinky.

Joe‘s grooming was courtesy of Scott McMahan, who was asked by the musician for “a chill and easy vibe”. That set the pro’s imagination flowing, who in turn detailed the singer’s getting ready process on his Instagram–here is what McMahan had to say:

“I immediately thought SKINCARE. That means Mario Badescu.

For this, we started with the Mario Badescu Cleansing Oil, followed by their Aloe Vera Toner and a generous spritz of the amazing Facial Spray with Aloe, Sage, and Orange Blossom. A bit of Buttermilk Moisturizer will keep his skin protected and feeling great all evening. We finished off with Dior Beauty Diorskin Loose Powder, a light dusting of Clarins Bronzing Powder, and a dab of Vaseline Lip Therapy.”

Scott also mentioned using products by RCMA.

Keep in mind that some products were not specified in terms of shades, so this piece of writing will only serve as a guideline for you in case you’d like to replicate this easy glam.

The hair was styled in luscious pulled-back waves.

When it came to the nails, manicurist Julie Kandalec played with golds and matte blacks, creating an opulent gilded nail art, truly on theme.

Here is what she used to achieve it (all details were provided by the pro):

“- OPI – Chip Skip;
OPI – ‘Onyx Skies‘ Black;
OPI – ‘Gold Digger‘ Gold Chrome Powder;
OPI – Chrome Effects Top Coat;
OPI – Matte Top Coat over the ‘Onyx Skies‘ only.”

Kandalec is an incredible artist and one of those who gave me the confidence and strength to go on when I first started writing on this website. Even though she has a big following, she makes sure to connect with her followers and is truly down-to-earth.

She’s ever evolving and she fights for the credits she is owed when she works on A-listers. It’s an important fight, I urge you to follow suit and recognize the work these professionals do, because I am pretty sure you wouldn’t be able to achieve the same results yourselves. We should all celebrate them.

To conclude, Joe was styled by Sydney Lopez one of his latest frequent collaborators; I personally appreciated the play on femininity/masculinity, something which is very much imbued into the Louis Vuitton brand, I also value the effort to adhere to the theme.
