Joan Smalls is an uncomparable beauty, so much so that she left us speechless once she walked the red carpet of this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Afterparty. Can you believe that this was the sixth time she was part of it?

If you’re intrigued by what she wore this year, then keep on reading.

For the party, Smalls donned a Christopher John Rogers algae green bias-cut silk charmeuse, silk georgette and silk chiffon dress from the Resort 2023 collection, paired with gold Aquazzura Mini-Tequila Sandals 105.

The Black beauty accessorized her look with Buccellati earrings, a Rombi bracelet on her left wrist and a 18k Étoilée Eternity Band featuring 24 diamonds on her right middle finger.

Joan‘s makeup was courtesy of Adam Burrell who combed her brows upwards for a laminated effect, and gently framed her eyes with a black trait of liner and false lashes. Shiny, nude lips finished off the look.

The hair was styled in a soft side part with waves gently cascading down her back by Hos Hounkpatin, a classic do but very effective for the occasion. It was the right amount of glam, mixed with the right amount of supermodel attitude.

Manicurist Dawn Sterling told her Instagram followers that she gave the model’s short, square nails a purple reflection by using the ZillabeauBonniebee Purple Beam‘ Satin Powder.

Smalls always teaches us a lesson in effortless styling. Many times she has collaborated with stylist Eric McNeal and many times she has been crowned one the best dressed among the guests of the events that she has attended. Being a model surely helps a big deal: you know your angles and you are so used to fittings that you know what works and what doesn’t for you.

In this particular case she also worked with a team of mainly Black creatives and this is a testament to her will to uplift her peers by promoting their work and giving them a bigger platform.
