Our Emmys 2019 recap goes on with Jameela Jamil. Let’s see what she wore for the 71st Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater on September 22, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
For the occasion, Jamil donned a wonderful turquoise Monique Lhuillier gown from the Spring 2020 collection.
The actress felt like a real Princess Jasmine on the red carpet and despite her appearance she revealed Access that two hours before the red carpet she was on a drip, lying on the bathroom floor throwing up because she suffers from gastritis, had a bad reaction to antibiotics and has been sick for four days.
The look was accessorized with David Webb turquoise Orbit earrings with diamond accents, a big statement ring and a turquoise and diamonds yellow gold cuff. A Heliopolis Accessories mint green sparkly clutch finished off the look.
Jameela did her makeup herself, which seems to be an on-going tradition even on the set of ‘The Good Place‘ and for a strong reason: while talking to E! reporter Zanna Roberts Rassi on the Emmys red carpet, Jamil revealed that after talking to the producers during season 1, she always did her own makeup at home before going to work.
“I realized the girls were getting in like 4:45 or 4:30 in the morning. And we had an hour and 45 minutes in hair and makeup. I was like, ‘How ugly do you think I am? I need half an hour. Meanwhile, men had a much later call time. I’ll do my own makeup.'” In the end, Jamil got the same amount of time for hair and makeup as the boys.
Her hairstylist Robert Lopez mentioned using Oribe products and Mason Pearson hair tools.
She did also have a stylist this time, the great Law Roach who she already admired for his help shaping Zendaya‘s style through the years.

Jameela Jamil plays the role of Tahani Al-Jamil, a deceased wealthy British philanthropist and fashion model who believes she belongs in ‘The Good Place‘.
