Today’s article revolves around an outfit that caught my attention on the runway already, and that means that whoever will wear it, will be carefully analyzed and brought back to your attention. Case in point: Irina Shayk attending last year’s British Vogue ‘Forces For Change’ Gala Dinner.

For the event, Irina looked like a goddess in an Alaïa black sleeveless crew neck dress knitted in a polyamide yarn with a lace mesh design with scallops knitted in a stretch viscose that had a 3D and lacquered look.

The gown was the Look 24 from the Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection.

Shayk seemed also to be carrying an Alaïa black Smoking jacket with a satin shawl collar, crafted in dry and technical gabardine pure wool, to cover up from the cold.

She then accessorized her sultry ensemble with black and gold Alaïa Cabaret sandals in patent calfskin with sculptural ankle strap heels (inspired by the Parisian cabaret dancers) and a black Alaïa Eyelet Demi-Lune bag.

Irina looked like a true femme fatale, with luminous, perfect skin and a striking lip that matched her hair. After all, she is a natural beauty, there is literally nothing more that a human could do to further enhance what she already has an abundance of.

Thank God makeup artist extraordinaire Sofia Tilbury wrote a detailed breakdown of all the Charlotte Tilbury products she used on the Russian model. Many people were wondering about the deep, berry-brown pout that Irina showed off in the pictures, and we are happy to give you an accurate answer to that.

Here is all you need to know (slightly edited for clarity):

Hairstylist Dawson Hiegert styled her hair in a slight side part, creating voluminous curly locks for the model, using Harry Josh Pro Tools.

She had no jewelry to adorn her body, even her manicure was strictly natural.

Even though I try to stay away from black dresses (not because I don’t love them but because I try to have a range of colors to talk about without sounding too repetitive), sometimes certain designers make me feel a certain way and I can’t hold back.

The construction of an Alaïa dress requires a certain craftsmanship, a certain dedication, and on a body such as that of Irina Shayk, it is the climax of beauty. Her gowns never wear her, she is always in power and I truly love that about her.

I also admire the fact that even though she is a very famous model, she collaborates with stylists who are not necessarily too talked about but who deserve surely more recognition, such as Natasha Colvin in this case.

As I always say, I love hidden gems, that’s the joy of what I do.
