We are starting the week at full speed, bringing you a hint of Summer, with the magnificent dress model Imaan Hammam wore to this year’s Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.
I know it is a mouthful but the mission of this event is very noble: raise money to end AIDS.
We’ll always praise those who commit to the cause and it’s imperative for us to spread the word and make people understand the importance of it being a topic of conversation.
Hammam donned a billowing bright orange Atelier Versace dress with intricate cutouts on the front and deep thigh high slit, cascading into a flowing skirt with train, stemming from the Spring-Summer 2023 collection.
She paired it with black ankle stiletto sandals, a gold Versace cuff and a Versace Small ‘La Medusa‘ bag.
Her makeup was sultry and defined, courtesy of Raoúl Alejandre. He framed her eyes with a deep black trait of kajal, false lashes and a nude brown-ish lip. A touch of orange-y blush on her cheeks to match the color of the dress and make the look even more cohesive.
Iman rocked her natural curly hair, styled by Hos Hounkpatin in a middle part while manicurist Eri Ishizu painted her almond shaped nails with a black shiny nail polish.
This time, the model collaborated with stylist and Fashion Director Alex White.
As it often happens with models, I observed that many of them do tend to work with connoisseurs of the job rather than your usual fashion stylists and I think it is because they are as inside of the fashion business as them and they have all the means to work with the best of the best.
That being said, as a model progresses with her career, she is probably more inclined to elevate her presence even more, and working with someone who is affiliated with a well known fashion publication can undoubtedly do much good to your reputation.
The EJAF foundation is a nonprofit organization, established by Sir Elton John–in 1992 in the United States and 1993 in the United Kingdom–to support innovative HIV prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to people living with HIV. It has raised over $600 million to support HIV related programs in fifty-five countries.
The organization supports its work through proceeds from special events, cause-related marketing projects, and voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. The foundation’s U.S. and U.K. branches work separately. Each focuses on different regions of the world; as a result, the organization is able to reach a broader scope of the world. The U.S. branch works in the Americas and the Caribbean, while the U.K. branch focuses on Europe, Asia and Africa.
EJAF has been well-known in Hollywood since 1993, when it began hosting the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Award Party.
The foundation is chaired by David Furnish, a producer of theater and music. He has been in a relationship with Elton John since 1993; they entered a civil partnership in 2005 and married in 2014.
