In just two months and one day, we’ll be able to witness a new MET Gala, and keeping up with our tradition, we are bringing you the best related content we can offer. What about Gigi Hadid and her magnificent look for the MET 2018?
As you all are very well aware, the theme of the year was: “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and the American model nailed it without even trying too much.
Hadid donned a custom Atelier Versace one shoulder, high leg split gown with train featuring stained glass-inspired handcrafted crystal embroidery.
The dreamy ensemble was paired with a Lorraine Schwartz 50-carat champagne and intense pink diamond earring set, different sets of Ofira Tattoo 18-karat gold diamond rings, an Ofira Cluster 18-karat gold diamond ring and other Lorraine Schwartz intricate rings.
In the backstage shots you can spot a Tyler Ellis Ocean Blue Swirl Plexi clutch; to finish off the look, she wore a pair of matching satin Christian Louboutin Jonatina sandals (not in the color pictured below).
Makeup artist Patrick Ta did a great job on her delicate face and as reported by Allure, he used Maybelline products to achieve it. Ready for a product breakdown?
First of all, Ta used a Maybelline Soda Pop Eyeshadow palette, then he applied Grape Pop in her crease, with the same brush he blended in Blue Raspberry to add more depth. Blue Raspberry was mixed with the shade Cherry on Top on Gigi‘s lid to create a base and blended out into the crease. The makeup artist then used a different brush to press Cherry Cola onto the lid and then completed the look by using a pencil brush to apply Blue Raspberry again on the lower lash line.
“For the liner, Ta mixed Master Precise Ink Liquid Eyeliner in the shades Stellar Sand and Solar Gold and drew a tapered line below the lid. He then brightened Hadid‘s eyes by applying Lasting Drama Lightliner in White Luster on her waterline. Her eyes were topped off with Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara on just the top lashes.
Ta primed her skin with Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primer, followed by Fit Me! Dewey + Smooth Foundation and Fit Me! Concealer.
After contouring her forehead and cheekbones with the dark side of the Master Contour V Shape Duo stick, he used Fit Me! Blush in Nude on the apples of her cheeks. Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold was then applied to the inner corner, brow bone, nose and cheekbones.
Ta finished the look by filling in Hadid‘s lips with Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Dusty Rose and topping it off with Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes in Purely Nude before Ta set Hadid‘s face with the Master Fix Setting Spray.”
Manicurist Mei Kawajiri handpainted Gigi‘s nails with an OPI nail polish matching the colors and patterns of the stained glass inspired gown.
