On this fine Wednesday I wanted to delve into something different for a change and what better occasion than to write about an archival fashion piece that would make us dream a bit?

That’s why I’d love to talk to you about Gigi Hadid‘s ensemble for this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Let’s dive into it together.

Hadid looked stunning in an altered beige version of a Zac Posen bandeau mermaid silhouette dress, dating back to the Pre-Fall 2014 collection, paired with matching pointy pumps.

She looked outstanding accessorizing her outfit with a Messika Roaring Diamonds necklace, a Messika Roaring Diamonds High Jewelry bracelet, an Illusionnistes ear clip on her left ear, the Glam’Azone double ring, the Gloria double ring and a pink and yellow diamond stone Toi&Moi heart-shaped ring on her left middle finger.

The blonde model’s makeup consisted in a light brown smokey eye and a negative cut crease that helped make everything look lighter and refined. Makeup artist and friend Patrick Ta completed the look with a nude lip.

Her hair was styled in a voluminous deep side part by Dimitris Giannetos, very reminiscent of the late Veronica Lake. The overall outfit was streamlined and simple, hence why this hairstyle was definitely the perfect one to opt for–the proportions were just right.

The nails were kept clean and natural.

We all know that the collaboration between Gigi Hadid and her stylist Mimi Cuttrell is one of the best in the business, not just because Cuttrell is undoubtedly one of the best professionals out there but also because Gigi has an undeniable talent in styling herself too (if you’ve ever seen her in the “7 Days, 7 Looks” series on Vogue‘s Youtube, you’ll see that she has her own thought process and her own taste when it comes to clothes).

I am also very much appreciating the fact that she is working with Zac Posen (she already did for this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty–I’ll write about it in due time), one of the best designers who has been unfairly treated by the fashion system.

I hope we’ll see the day when he’ll be at the helm of a Maison that will give him the chance to shine bright again.
