It wasn’t exactly easy to find who were the architects behind Finneas‘ look for last year’s MET Gala. I loved that he went a bit out of his comfort zone and as it always happens with men who don’t give us plain black tuxedos, I was intrigued.
Here is what I found out.
For the renowned fashion event, Finneas wore a red custom-made Givenchy outfit, reminiscent of the designs from the Fall and Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear collections.
O’Connell accessorized his ensemble with statement pieces courtesy of Cartier: a ‘Peu de Croco‘ collier in rose, corail, nacre grise and diamonds for 23.37 carats, an openwork yellow gold ‘Panthère‘ ring with tsavorite garnets for eyes and a deep black glossy onyx nose, a ‘Panthère de Cartier‘ ring and a white gold ‘Clash de Cartier‘ ring.
Finneas‘ interpretation of the theme? Wearing a classic brand such as Givenchy, which is now helmed by an American creative director such as Matthew Williams, is the right way to celebrate American fashion.
The musician is pretty new to this fashion circuit and for sure he would have never imagined to attend an event as important as the MET Gala (even though his résumé is filling up quickly by the minute–keep in mind that he and his sister met the Royal Family and current President of the United States Joe Biden).
We were not able to find any details regarding his grooming, apart from the fact that his hairstylist Korey Fitzpatrick used Oribe products to style his hair and give it volume and structure.
Also, I wasn’t surprised by the fact that a costume designer served as his stylist, Anton Schneider did his job egregiously.
